Johnny Miller

American

Johnny Miller (b. 1947) is San Francisco's own: raised in the Ingleside district, a caddie at the San Francisco Golf Club at 12, an Olympic Club junior, and eighth as a 19-year-old amateur at the 1966 U.S. Open at Olympic. His final-round 63 to win the 1973 U.S. Open at Oakmont stood for half a century as championship golf's defining round; he added the 1976 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale and 25 PGA Tour wins.

From 1990 to 2019 he was NBC's lead golf analyst, and he has designed and consulted on courses in his post-playing career.
