Course History

Dollar Ranch dates to the mid-1960s and takes its name from the historic Stanley Dollar ranch land on which the Rossmoor community was developed. Established in 1964, it was designed by American Society of Golf Course Architects member Robert Muir Graves and became the anchor course of what is now The Golf Clubs at Rossmoor.

Over the decades the course has served as a central amenity of the Rossmoor 55+ community, complementing the club's shorter Creekside course and remaining a favorite among residents and members for its championship layout and mature setting.

The Design & Architecture

Robert Muir Graves routed Dollar Ranch across gently rolling terrain with moderate elevation changes, framing fairways with mature trees and the surrounding East Bay hills. The par-72 layout plays to roughly 6,177 yards from the back tees and offers four sets of NCGA-rated tees, allowing players to select a length suited to their game. Bluegrass greens and fairways give the course its lush, traditional character.

Playing the Course

Dollar Ranch rewards steady, positional golf. With multiple tee options and manageable but present elevation changes, it is enjoyable and walkable for a wide range of skill levels while still testing better players from the longer tees. Well-maintained conditions and scenic hillside views make for a pleasant round in a quiet, community setting.
