Round Hill Country Club

The routing moves among trees, residential edges and rising ground; the club offers a full driving range, short-game area and putting greens for members and guests.

Course History

The club says the course has served members and guests since 1960. The golf-and-residential project began in 1959, while the clubhouse, tennis facility and pool followed in 1961, according to the club photography history. Those are distinct milestones from the course opening.

Lawrence Hughes designed the original course. A club-provided executive profile credits Robert Muir Graves with a 1975 renovation and John Steidel with another in 2004.

Design and Playing the Course

The club course map shows the full 18-hole routing, practice area and a mix of tree-lined corridors, bunkers and water. A 2024 Bill Hornstein photography feature shows current-era aerial views of greens among the wooded Alamo hills. The course is par 72 according to the club-provided profile. A current club scorecard with a named tee, yardage, rating and slope was not publicly available at this audit; check the current card before choosing tees or using handicap figures.

The club golf page lists a full-sized driving range, short-game area, putting greens, instruction and a golf shop. Its linked course flyover was published by Round Hill Country Club in August 2018; use it to preview the routing, with that filming date in mind.

Know Before You Go

Round Hill is a private club. Golf access is for members and guests under club arrangements; there is no public tee-time inventory. The club currently labels Golf Membership as waitlisted, and its admission guide says admission is by invitation. Confirm guest play, current dress rules and any booking details with the member or club.
