Course guide
The maintained course record, presented separately from live booking and user reviews.
Peter Hay, a former head professional at Pebble Beach and Del Monte, first created a short course on this site in 1957. Tiger Woods and TGR Design reimagined it in 2021.
Former Pebble Beach and Del Monte head professional Peter Hay developed the original par-3 course in 1957 to give juniors, families and new golfers a place to play together. Woods kept that welcoming purpose in the 2021 redesign while giving each short hole a different shot and green contour.
The current scorecard totals 670 yards. The first hole is a 57-yard shot to a green divided by a biarritz-style gully. The second, at 106 yards, recreates the famous seventh at Pebble Beach Golf Links. The holes are named for figures in Pebble Beach golf history, and the ninth plays to a green with a thumbprint contour.
The 47-yard fourth, Bing, is a partially blind shot into a sunken green hidden by mounds and a tree. Grace, the fifth, honors 1948 U.S. Women’s Amateur winner Grace Lenczyk and plays through oaks to a green with helping slopes. The eighth, Kite, points toward Stillwater Cove, where wind can affect the 92-yard tee shot. These are compact holes, but the varied targets ask for more than one stock wedge swing.
The operator’s hole-by-hole tour gives the story and yardage of all nine holes. The adjacent 20,000-square-foot putting course has multiple possible routings and is open to everyone without a fee.
The short course is separate from Pebble Beach Golf Links and has its own tee times. A large putting course sits beside it and is open to the public at no charge. Check current booking and junior play details on the Pebble Beach Hay page; the short-course scorecard shows each hole’s yardage.
