Seascape Golf Club

Its current Blue tees play to par 71 over 6,039 yards, with a 69.7 course rating and 129 slope. Monterey pines and eucalyptus frame rolling fairways and small greens.

Course history and play

Willie Locke designed the original Rio Del Mar Country Club course in 1926. During World War II, the grounds served as a victory garden; the course later reopened after a redesign by David Gill. Today the routing offers public tee times and a practice facility.

Practice near the coast

The range was renovated in 2021 and has 15 hitting stations aimed toward three target greens. Its roughly 200-yard length and rear netting lead the club to restrict clubs that normally fly beyond 220 yards. Two putting greens and a chipping green with a bunker provide more room for warm-up and short-game practice.

A public club with programs

Golfers can book public tee times on the 18-hole course, while club memberships add access to men’s, women’s and junior golf programs. The full-service restaurant and bar are in the clubhouse. The course sits about half a mile from the Pacific, framed by Monterey pines and eucalyptus rather than directly on an ocean bluff.
