Mission Hills of Hayward Golf Course

The operator’s card shows six par 3s and three par 4s, so the round mixes short-iron shots with three chances to use a longer club. Ponds, bunkers and undulating ground shape the compact course; carts are available for golfers who prefer to ride.

Course History and Design

The operator’s homepage credits David A. Rainville and Gary Bye and says the course opened in 1999. Contemporary industry coverage described the original public course as a par-30 nine built with wetland restoration and flood-control work. That account describes the opening design, not a fresh survey of today’s turf or hazards.

The current course-information page calls the layout undulating. The operator’s on-course photos show a pond, green and bunkers. Its hosted scorecard has six par 3s and three par 4s. The White row totals 1,720 yards, but the card is undated and uses pre-2019 Rules of Golf references; it cannot verify today’s exact tee yardage or rating. Confirm your tee and current card with the shop.

Playing the Course

The three par 4s interrupt a sequence of shorter holes, and the original design incorporated water and sand. Approach distance control matters more than sustained driving length. The course is suited to a shorter round, while the separate range, putting greens and chipping areas offer more practice before or after play.

Know Before You Go

• Book through the operator’s tee-time link or call the golf shop at (510) 888-0200. The booking page is branded for Mission Hills; checkout was not tested.

• The operator’s rate page listed nine-hole nonresident walking rates of $25 weekdays and $29 weekends when checked November 3, 2026; resident, senior and junior rates also appear. The operator warns that website prices may differ from the course.

• The district facility page lists 275 Industrial Parkway, Hayward, CA 94544. The course shop and driving range have separate phone numbers and potentially different hours; check before traveling.
