Brian Costello’s compact routing uses water, bunkers and choices between conservative and more demanding lines; the course also maintains creekside habitat.

The figures are a single 18-hole men’s Blue-tee set: the operator scorecard publishes 65.9/116, and the October 2026 NCCGA tournament card lists 5,398 yards and par 68 with the same rating and slope. Older City material lists 5,393 yards; use the current named-tee set for planning.

Course History

The City of San Jose’s municipal-golf summary records an April 1, 2002 opening. The City owns the course, which sits along Coyote Creek. The operator’s current site reports renewed Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status; this recognizes its environmental stewardship rather than a change to the scorecard.

Design & Playing the Course

The operator’s course description names Brian Costello of JMP Golf Design Group and describes a routing integrated with the creek habitat. It says most holes offer both challenging and conservative routes. Water and bunkers visible in the operator’s course photographs reinforce that character, although the slideshow does not identify individual holes.
