Foxtail Golf Club (South)

The club presents it as the gentler and more affordable of its two 18-hole options; its current Gold tees reach 6,492 yards. The South and North courses have separate cards and design histories.

Playing figures: club South Course men’s Gold card, ratings updated February 2025.

Course History

The South Course opened in 1963. The Northern California Golf Association identifies Bob E. Baldock as its designer; it separately credits Roger Baird for the later North Course. Those North Course design and renovation details do not describe the South layout.

The Design & Architecture

The club describes the South as the more forgiving option for golfers who do not always hit straight. Its 2025 card has five par 3s, nine par 4s and four par 5s, with the front nine at 35 and back nine at 36. The course has its own Gold, Blue, White and Red tee yardages; do not use the North Course par-72 card for this round.

Playing the Course

From the men’s Gold tees, the South plays 18 holes at par 71, 6,492 yards, rating 71.9 and slope 125 on the club’s February 2025 card. The other tees offer shorter choices: Blue 6,224, White 5,830 and Red 5,343 yards. Check the club course card for the full tee and hole-by-hole figures before playing.
