Course History

Deep Cliff Golf Course was built in 1961 by architect Franklin Clark Glasson, who designed and constructed a number of golf courses across the western United States during the 1950s and 1960s. Glasson operated the course himself for more than three decades before selling it to golf course operator John Telischak in 1992.

Over the years the course has become a well-loved neighborhood fixture in Cupertino, drawing local golfers, families, and Silicon Valley professionals looking for a quick, affordable round close to home.

The Design & Architecture

Glasson routed Deep Cliff as an executive-length layout that emphasizes precision over power. The par-60 course plays across relatively flat terrain with tree-lined but fairly generous fairways, greens guarded by bunkers, doglegs on most of the par-4 holes, and a creek that comes into play on several holes. The gently tiered greens reward accurate approach shots and a sharp short game.
