Blackhawk Country Club (Falls)

It is separate from the Lakeside Course. Water features and East Bay hillside views define its setting; Casey O’Callaghan’s work includes a later bunker renovation.

Course History

The club has two distinct 18-hole courses. Its architect describes Falls as following Lakeside in the mid-1980s; the club credits Ted Robinson with the original design and Casey O’Callaghan with renovations in 2010. O’Callaghan reports a multiyear Falls bunker renovation completed in 2022, after 17 acres of out-of-play turf were converted to drought-tolerant landscape. An exact opening year has not been verified from a current primary source.

Playing the Course

The club’s live Falls hole tour lists Black-tee distances totaling 6,668 yards across 18 holes. It shows a 480-yard par-4 first, a 173-yard par-3 11th, and a 333-yard par-4 finish. Water and bunker placement call for careful targets, while the recent bunker work means older photos and scorecards may describe a different presentation. The club does not publish a dated rating and slope alongside that tour.

Know Before You Go

• Blackhawk is a private, sponsor-based club. Its membership page lists golf categories and notes that some non-equity memberships have golf restrictions; confirm eligibility and guest arrangements with the club. No public tee-time booking is advertised.

• The club lists a 21-bay covered, lighted TrackMan range, practice putting and chipping areas, instruction, and an indoor training center. These are club facilities, not separate Falls-only amenities.
