Registration is open for the 2027 San Francisco City Championship. The 111th playing runs March 5–21 at TPC Harding Park and Lincoln Park, with entries handled through AmateurGolf.com. The deadline is February 16, 2027, at 5 p.m. Pacific; the organizer says it will not accept late entries.
The City is a public-course championship with a serious competitive format: stroke-play qualifying, then head-to-head match play. But the route into the field depends on the division. Before paying, start with the official entry instructions and read the schedule and eligibility for your division.
The Men’s Championship has a selection step
The marquee Men’s Championship is not a first-come, first-served checkout. Its 148-player qualifying field includes exempt players and additional selections. The organizer asks players claiming an exemption to apply by November 1; it expects to select additional players by November 15. Applying does not itself secure a start.
Players who are not selected can enter the Men’s Championship Pre-Qualifier at Lincoln Park on March 5. Low finishers advance into the Championship field. The 36-hole Championship qualifier follows March 6–7, with one round at Harding Park and one at Lincoln Park. The low 64 move into single-elimination match play, ending with a 36-hole final on March 21.
Other ways into The City
The event also offers Women’s Championship and Women’s Senior divisions, Men’s Senior and Super Senior divisions, and Open Flights. The women’s qualifying round is scheduled for Lincoln Park on March 12. Senior qualifying takes place at Harding Park later in the championship, while Open Flights begin directly with match play. A current AmateurGolf.com membership is required and is separate from the entry fee.

Check the division rules before submitting. Men’s Championship applications are subject to selection; the Pre-Qualifier has its own entry.
Submit by February 16, 2027, at 5 p.m. Pacific. The organizer says there are no late entries.
The two municipal venues make the championship distinctly San Francisco: Lincoln Park above the Golden Gate, and Harding Park beside Lake Merced.
