The Valley Course at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Morgan Hill, California, is one of two Jack Nicklaus Signature layouts at the facility set across the rolling countryside at the southern tip of Silicon Valley. The flatter and more forgiving of the club's two courses, the Valley Course is open to the public and features generous fairways, large greens, and scenic views of the surrounding hills. Stretching more than 7,000 yards from the back tees yet playable for golfers of every level, it offers an enjoyable round paired with a full-service clubhouse and event spaces.

Course History

Coyote Creek Golf Club is home to two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature courses in Morgan Hill, at the southern edge of Silicon Valley. The club's Tournament Course opened first in 1999, followed by the Valley Course in 2001.

While the Tournament Course now offers private memberships, the Valley Course has remained open to the public, giving daily-fee golfers access to a full Nicklaus design in the South Bay.

The Design & Architecture

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the Valley Course is the flatter and more forgiving of Coyote Creek's two layouts. It features generous, open fairways and larger greens that make its 7,000-plus yards accessible to a wide range of players, from beginners to accomplished golfers. Bluegrass turf covers the fairways and greens, and views across the surrounding hills frame the routing.

Playing the Course

Playing to a par of 72 and up to 7,066 yards from the back tees, the Valley Course carries a rating of 74.4 and a slope of 135, presenting a solid test from the tips while remaining playable from the forward markers. The signature hole is the par-3 seventh, which stretches to about 220 yards from the tips and demands an all-carry shot over a lake to a green guarded by bunkers on the right and a collection area to the left.
