Charles Maud

Charles Maud was an English-born Monterey resident who laid out the original Del Monte Golf Course in 1897 — the oldest golf course in continuous operation west of the Mississippi River. His modest nine-hole layout became the seed of the Monterey Peninsula's rise as one of the world's great golf destinations.
